To visualize a new identity for the College, a bit of the old was introduced to a new perspective on the institution. On one side are regulations and standards of practice, on the other it’s the industry and the community it serves. Overall, the intent is to promote heath and well being through proactive dental practices. The purple tone, retained from the previous identity, represents the institution, and blue was added for community.
Overall, the identity represents a holistic approach to oral health with the addition of a water droplet to the image of a tooth. Clean water is important to overall health and community water fluoridation, for those who have access, since it helps to keep teeth healthy and cavity free. And finally, in the arch of the top of the identity there is a set-in infinity symbol, which reflects ongoing practice of good hygiene to teeth.
The collective colour standards are then carried through all the support resources, paying attention to aspects of content that relate to the relationship the organization has with the community it serves.
